Configure Google Chat notifications

There are 4 places to configure Google Chat notifications before they work correctly.

1. In Google Chat itself
   1. Click the gear icon (settings)
   2. Make sure the first 3 sections look like this
2. In your Chrome browser
   1. Click the paddlock to the left of the URL
   2. Make sure that the Notifications setting says "Allow"
3. In Windows
   1. Click your Windows button and search for "Notifications & actions settings"
   2. Make sure "Get notifications from apps and other senders" is turned On
   3. Make sure under "Get notifications from these senders" that Google Chrome is turned On
4. In Windows
   1. Click your Windows button and search for "Focus Assist"
   2. Make sure the setting is "Off"

If you still aren’t getting desktop notifications:

• Make sure that your availability button within Chat (at top left) is "Active"
• Make sure you haven't clicked "Turn off notifications" on any group or conversation
